Barristan Hark is the magistrate of the village of Hawksbridge. Also a priest of Bahamut, Barristan is a strict interpreter of the law. He is stern and grim in demeanor, if his broad shoulders and muscled arms weren’t intimidating enough. He is in his mid-30’s, but has never been married. It has been whispered (although never when Barristan is around) that the magistrate had a great love in his youth, but some tragedy occurred and the pain has scarred him ever since.
Barristan also maintains a shrine to Bahamut, a small, wooden structure that faces the Trade Road as it passes through the town. He consistently performs one worship service per week, usually attended by a few faithful villagers.
Recently, Barristan was the target of an assassination attempt. The assassins were a couple of tieflings, hired by someone to eliminate the magistrate. They surely would have been successful if not for the timely intervention of the Heroes of Hawksbridge. Barristan realizes they saved his life and is grateful, glad to help his rescuers however he can.
